All the best leb I'm sure everything will be fine
Hi @Scottishlass500 My avatar is totally misleading as the following will prove. Diagnosed Type 1 at 11 months; had haemorrhage in right eye early 1979 and had primitive laser treatment at King's College Hospital. By 1983 both eyes had been done more than once. Nothing since then. The photograph was taken in 2014 and those specs are £5 reading ones! The secret to this turnaround was the fact that the ophthalmologist in 1979 said that if I didn't get to grips with my control, I'd be blind by the age of 23. I worshipped him and blood glucose meters, which in those days would not have fitted in any pocket! Seriously my near normal HbA1c allowed me to continue with deteriorating kidneys (from 1973) right up to a kidney/pancreas transplant 4.5 years ago today! Your eye consultant should prove correct, but a good HbA1C will have a bearing. Good luck with the pregnancy and the diabetes.Hi everyone, I have been a type1 diabetic fir 266 years and am 16 weeks pregnant. I had my first bleed last week following laser the week before, however I have been having laser on and off for the last two years. This entire thread has given me hope within what has been a very dark time. I'd love to know how all your eyes are now.... I recently asked my eye consultant if i should expect this laser pattern to be a routine part of my life for ever more which she said shouldn't. So as I said would love to know where you are all at 4-5 years down the line. I hope it has continued to be a positive experience for you all and thank you again for your un-intentional support. It's been appreciated!
