Had to giggle

Realised today just how carb deprived my non-diabetic, very supportive husband must feel when he misheard
"Tomorrow we'll have cottage pie with leeky topping"
As
"Tomorrow we'll have Sticky Toffee pudding"

Even worse was seeing how quickly his face fell when he realised, and how much it had lit up in the first place
I'm feeling so guilty

I can recommend a good audiologist for him to avoid any disappointment in future.

Not a big fan of leeks, I have mashed jap pumpkin on my cottage / shepherd's pies.

I liked treacle tarts when I was younger, not sure about sticky toffee.
 
Usually reading the post's on this forum strengthen my resolve to stick to my low carb way of life.
But now I really, really want sticky toffee pudding. Not gonna sleep tonight and if I do I'll probably dream of being chased by a giant sticky toffee pudding

Poor bloke! Seconding the idea to get him one all for his very own!

Maybe you could wrap him a voucher for high carb treats for part of his Christmas present (one of my bloke shapes tends to get mince pie vouchers 'cos, for him they're the very best thing about Christmas and being able to have them at other times of the year is a huge treat for him)
 
I will reassure you all by saying he does have several carby things tucked away and has free access to them, including 2 individual golden syrup puddings. And he is trying g to lose a bit of a tummy tyre...
 
He will be making the mince pies this year, whenever he wants

Still, it's not the same as sticky toffee pudding today...
