So my folks are visiting.
Went to beefeater and before eating sugars were 8.3 (had had a couple bites of dads cake at IKEA.
Dad had my fries and I subbed pibeapple for an extra egg with the gammon and I had hallumi fries.
Wasn’t until they cane that I discovered they were covered in batter.
Absolutely gutted. Had done so well with food choices (nicked two of dads chips but that was it) so to be then hoodwinked by hallumi wasn’t at all pleasing.
Two hours later give it take few mins because I forgot to check exact time of eating and sugars were 10.0. If also had diet lemonade.
So not disastrous but still. Nothing mentioned on menu other than fried and with a dip.
And yes I know 10 is too high but in general my sugars are higher at the mo and really just waiting to start on trulicity. So the 10 wasn’t actually that horrendous as still under a 2 ruse.
I learnt a similar lesson earlier on my low carb journey when I ordered Whitebait assuming it would just be the fish. As the menu didn’t mention batter I sent them back. Now I ask questions before ordering anything - better safe than sorry.

I have grilled halloumi at a pub near where I work and it is a lovely slab of halloumi grilled. Unfortunately I didn't check when ordering at a different establishment and it consisted of tiny balls of halloumi encased in a huge amount of batter. Tried to fish out the halloumi but was unsuccessful so just had to ditch it.
