It's well known that pre-diabetes and early diabetes can sometimes be put into remission by TIGHT control. Sometimes this is done by aggressive insulin therapy.
I don't think anyone has ever put established fully developed diabetes into remission, although some diabeics have controlled it to the extent that is is symptom free.

"Cures" for diabetes are as common as "cures" for cancer. And as far as my research has got me, just about as effective.
