Have a chosen the right pump. 4 years is a long time

Hi

Yes, if you press stop on the handset or pump, the multi wave, extended, and also the standard bolus will be cancelled and you will then need to press start again and look to see how much of the bolus was or wasnt delivered.

Regarding using the 'waves'...... I tend to mainly use the standard bolus most of the time as the Combo doesnt calculate the amounts using a percentage, it does it by units of insulin, so if you wanted to calculate 80% (as an example) you would need to calculate 10% first and then multiply that by 8 to get the 80% (or use a tiny calculator to do it for you). Its all a bit trial and error in getting the percentage correct so be prepared for some high bg levels as you find out....

Accu chek supply a magazine for pump users called Reach. If you phone them you can ask for the magazine to be sent to you. Issues 1 & 2 give details of bolus and using the waves.... and using basal rates and software...

Have a nice weekend and takes things easy with the pump until you get to grips with it all..........

Hi, thank you, that makes perfect sense. One final question.

I had a small air bubble in the line, so to get rid of it it, I disconnected the line from the infusion set, and said to the pump to give 10 units of insulin. The bubble went but then the handset thought I'd taken 10 units and confused further readings.

How can you prime the line without telling the pump you are takin a measure if insulin?
