Having a bad day!

I recently joined this site and posted about my 2 small children who have just been diagnosed Type 1 within a day of each other. I also have a 15 month year old to look after, so there is never a quiet moment in my house! My husband has been diabetic for 24 years, so on top of worrying about my kids, I also worry about him even though he is well controlled and managed ok before I came on the scene. He is away on business at the moment, so I guess looking after the kids on my own is taking its toll, with no one to chat to at the end of the day - so that's where you guys come in!!

I know I should be happy, as my 2 kids are doing fine and last week had their check ups - both having an HBA1 c of 7. It's been hard work getting the results, with a food diary for each of them and constant blood checks. I'm a emotional basket case at the moment and get another grey hair every time the school or nursery ring! They called today to let me know that there is a case of swine flu at the school, but at least it wasn't because they were having a hypo!

Sorry to go on but I feel better already for posting this!

Leggott.

I too am a emotional basket case at the moment, so can sympathise with you on that. I dont have children to look after, it's my husband that is diabetic and having real problems at the moment. I too have just joined this site, because I feel I need some kind of support and have recently posted a discussion on here asking for advice.

It sounds like you are going through it at the moment. I hope things pick up for you soon and I hope the family (and you) are ok and getting all the help you need.

Hi Leggott,
i only have 1 child with diabetes and remember those early days, i can only imagine what having 2 children with diabetes is like. I really feel for you, you've a lot to deal with, i hope you have family or a friend to help share the burden, when hubbies away. I find even heading out for coffee with a mate (obviously hoping the school does'nt phone) and trying to chill out. I know, easier said than done, and with 3 children youv'e got your hands full.
Theres plenty here to listen and give advise, sending (((hugs))) from one parent to another

Hello Leggott, I don't have any children with diabetes, However, i was diagnosed myself last year as a type 1. Without going into detail i went through hell and if it wasn't for the support i got from this site i honestly believe i wouldn't be here today. So hang in there and keep coming on for the support you obviously need. There's a never ending supply of help on here.

Regards
