The increase doesn't say anything about type. If anything, it looks like a pretty fast rise to me with T2. Do you use your meter to check your blood glucose at home? The disbete nurse says that it shows type 2 because its a slow increase.
Yes been using a meter. Levels still crazy today was 7.6 then 14.1 after breakfast 9.8 b4 lunch and 15.9 after. Highest i have had is 20.2. I have asked the nurse to considee t1, especially as i have a number of other autoimmune conditions but was told the onset was too slow and the sugar was not high enoigh. The increase doesn't say anything about type. Not true. Not saying you have T1, as impossible to tell, but T1 (LADA) is definitely a possibility with those numbers, as your DN should know.was told the onset was too slow and the sugar was not high enoigh.
@Azande have you recently started taking statins?Hi,
In oct my hba1c wad 5.6 / 38. Then on 28/5 it was 6.3 / 45.
Last week i was called back to dr with sugar in urine. I am now on metformin and gliczade. My fasting bg is between 7.9 - 9.5.
My hba1c on 1/7 was 8.9 / 74. So it had increased 2.3% in a month. The disbete nurse says that it shows type 2 because its a slow increase.
Does anyone know if that is the normal type of increase seen? I am seeing her again later so any advice would be really appreciated.
Thank you
I’d say it wasnt a normal increase for type 2. Unless you ate masses of extra carbs, had huge amounts of stress and gained weight between that and the previous reading a month earlier I’d say it was pretty quick rise actually.Hi,

id say this may be a side effect to the metformin. It may settle or maybe slow release would be better.but i keep have nausea, stomach cramps, sweating and shear exhaustion. I will ask for that test when i see her later. Thank you x
