Sorry not to have been around for the last week or so but work being work it has been a tad busy.
Anyway, I went today to get my hba1c results.
The story so far is that when I was last tested my result was 11.1, my sugars then flew off the radar and got stupidly high and then I joined this forum.
I started a low carb diet and was on it for a month before my blood test, well the result is that I have come down to 9. Long way to go but it shows that if I persevere by the time my next test is done they should have come down even more.
They didnt do my cholresterol but it was 5.8 with my hdl at 1 and my ldl at 3 the last time it was done.
My DN is a very stroppy mare who seems to care more about the poor doctors getting money docked because I refuse to take statins rather than my concerns about the drug. I have been told today that any erectile problems I may have will be a direct cause of not taking statins to keep the pipes from furring up....oooer missus....gotta tell ya nurse girl noooo probs in that direction matey lol
I was told to stop testing so much as there is absolutely b*gger all I can do even if my sugar goes up and to rely totally on a 3 month hba1c test and a self test once a month.....told her that was rubbish and how could I maintain any control without testing but rhino skin had made up her mind and wouldnt get into a debate.
So I am reasonably pleased to see a reduction in a short space of time and I look forward to having even better results next time around.
At times it felt like I was a kid being lectured to and not someone who was making an effort.
Oh and my weight had come down by 5kg
