Hba1c

I am trying to focus on the hba1c figure .....think I had better stick with what I understand ...I hope the op knows her right hba1c figure ...

I think were the confusion is arising , is that Hba1c is expressed as a figure in mmol/mol.
If you wish you can equate it to an average glucose reading that would be in mmol/L this is a higher figure, and would be the equivalent of what a blood meter would read, if you did a test.
They are not the same reading, a Hba1c should be expressed in mmol/mol,
Hope I make sense

That is exactly what I was saying, so I don't understand why you are saying an HbA1c of 42mmol/mol is 6mmol/l. It isn't. It is 7mmol/l.

If anyone wishes to compare their HbA1c to what their meters are saying, they need to convert it to mmol/l, which will always be a higher reading than the old HbA1c percentage figure.

Nearly there ....then ... I don't convert my hba1c to a third number ...just for example 5.9% to 41 mol for hba1c reading I except those ...

You only need to convert it to mmol/l if you keep your own averages from your meter, or keep tabs on fasting levels, so you can compare.

Thanks bluetit , I have to keep my figures simple ....I might put you on my help list for the future ....
