Hello..........Again

Just thought I would say hello again reason being is that I havent been on the site for quite a while!

I will introduce myself again My name is Kaz and I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for over 26 yrs, I also had a brother 3 yrs older than me that also had type 1 diabetes, he was 2yrs when first diagnosed and I was 12, I was already use to having no sugar in stuff ie tea and on cereal as my mum always said its best not to have sugar in the house. When I was diagnosed things had moved on a little from the days when I use to watch my mum unwrap my brothers glass syringe from a sterile sheet! gone were them days. Anyway I learnt very fast and began to live with my condition.
It was tuff and I wouldnt wish it upon anyone however my dad always use to remind me of those that couldnt live with their conditions or their diseases ie Cancer etc and only had 6 months to live or so where I could live a normal life with my condition!
Anyway I am now 37 and have had my fair share of complications with diabetes. I had my second child and had a massive post part heamorage (sp) and nearly died that obviously wasnt to do with the diabetes then however 2 weeks after that I had a bleed in my right eye this I was told was due to have a good control of my sugars whilst pregnant anyway 10 operations on the eye touch wood I do have my sight! (thank god) I go for regular check ups to the hospital etc etc, I also have kidney problems due to having long term diabetes.
Unfortunately my brother died last september aged 39 of a massive brain heamorage (sp) his last 5yrs were pretty bad on the diabetes side of things, he has lots of problems and lost his sight in one eye and partiually bline in the other. He had a bit of a tough time with it. Hence why I havent been onhere for a while.
I also have done my back in due to my work I have a torn disc and its also Bulging, I am cirrently signed off work and have been for the past 5 months. My bloods have been like a yoyo because of the amount of pain killers I am on, I have also gained 2 stone in weight which doesnt help.
I am hoping the new year will be a better one for me with health as before I done my back in I done a half marathon last March for charity I really enjoyed myself. And was quite fit now I feel very unfit and Fat! lol
