Hi all, just been diagnosed as Type 1 after a few months of hell lost 4 stone in 5 weeks still waiting for insulin etc as doctor doesnt seem to be ia rush however have first appointmen with diabetic nurse i a couple of days hopefully she will sort me out I am sure this forum will help lots

Hi Jon,

Hope all goes well for you at your appointmentment. Losing all that weight so quickly must have been a great worry.

Please be aware that if you feel ill and have no way of testing your blood sugars you need to call your G.P. regardless of the time of day.

Sorry to hear of your diagnosis and do hope everything is sorted out really quickly. You have found your way to a brilliant resource which will help you enormously. Read as much as you can before your appointment as it will be useful to you.

If you feel really ill I would suggest you get to A&E if necessary.
