Just a short note to introduce myself. I was diagnosed in 2000, but had been showing symptoms for longer. I am on Lantus and novorapid as well as metformin, and have just been refered back to the hospital as i have been guilty of poor control.
My own fault, i was having some bad thoughts at the time, but back on an even keel now.
Hope to get some useful tips and also hope i can be of help to anyone else.

Hi BJL and welcome to the forum. I'm glad you have decided to improve your control now before any complications develop. Your frame of mind is very important to your general health. As you have been diagnosed since 2000 you probably know already what you should be doing but I wonder if it might help you to look at things from a new angle. Our former monitors wrote this information for new members to help them to get started on managing their diabetes. I think that you may find some of this information useful to you too to get better control of your levels.

Thank you for your welcome notes, and i take on board what Daisy1 said.

I am working on improving my food intake but finding it dificult at the moment as i work 12 hour nights, and due to staff holidays and staff moving on i have only had 2 days off this month,( my next day off is 3rd August)

Once again, thank you for your welcome.
