I have just joined! I was diagnosed type 2 at the end of April 2012. I have been educating myself since then. What a steep learning curve!... and what unbelievably conflicting advice everywhere!
I have plumped for you lot! You seem a great bunch and knowledgeable too and I am buying into the low carb thing seems obvious to me .
Just thislunch time I tried quinoa for the first time I tested ( got a tester) at 2 hours 5.6 and at 4 hours ( I saw somwhere to do this with slow release carbs) 5.3 so I can add that to the diet and perhaps knock off the pasta which I don't do so well on

this is fun

Hi Rosie and welcome!

Sounds like you're getting on fine and great you're testing and doing low carb. That's the ideal combination that many of us have found works. Remember the knack on this forum is to ask as many questions as you need to as we were al newly diagnosed once.

Take care

Steve

Hi Rosie and welcome to the forum
Carry on having fun on here - you will make plenty of friends.
Here is the information we give to new members which I think will help you. Ask all the questions you like as someone will always have an answer for you.

thanks for that info.

it is a lot to digest, not your info, the whole thing ... I am doing the eat to your meter thang and funding it myself but will be pushy down the surgery from now on. the diet is the thing I will get to grips with first and all the other science I shall breathe in by osmosis from this site and acquire the knowledge

of to watch East Enders now
