Hi

Just thought I would say Hi. I'm Jon, I'm 30 and live in Scotland. Am type 2 diabetic, had diabetes for 13 years currently maxed out on 3 types of tablet. Very high blood sugars in the 20's just waiting for my consultant to take me down the path of insulin injections

Hope to get to know others in same situation. Is scary facing injections for rest of my life. Have few complications. Nerve damage, get pains in my legs, nocturnal urination due to reduced sensation, also have liver damage linked to my diabetes

Hi Jon and welcome to the forum You will find many members with Type 2 take insulin here so you are not alone and if you need to know anything someone will know the answer. I hope your consultant can help you to get your BGs down to a safer level.

Sue and Ken, the former monitors, have written some basic information for new members (just ignore the mentioned to "newly diagnosed"), as I know you have plenty of experience with diabetes, which you could find useful. The diet recommendations in particular could help you.
