Hi, this my first time here on this site. I am glad I have this opportunity to be here. Of course am also a diabetic but not really on the "alert level" status. But in spite of this I still need some information especially on how to prevent from getting it worse because I strongly believe that Prevention is Better than Cure. I've been diagnosed 4 years ago as diabetic though I don't feel any manifestations or symptoms that I can say am really diabetic fellow. One of doctors told me not to take any medicines but only to have a daily perspiring activities or regular exercises which I long been forgotten - am a chemical diabetic as what he said and I don't have much idea what it is.

My last blood sugar count was 148 if i am not mistaken that was a year ago. Generally I never had any complete medication since the medicines prescribed were too expensive. What I did was a little of diet control and do some intense (jogging) exercise almost everyday for an hour. Sadly I stopped a year ago until now.

I plan to comeback again (on my exercise and diet) this new year which i think a good start because it will be a good start of the year. I am glad i received an email from your site that gave me an additional inspiration in time with my plan to be backed again on the right track of managing again my diabetes. I appreciate it.

More Power and Happy New Year.

Hi Nathaniel and welcome to the forum You are quite right to start thinking about looking after yourself properly before you have problems. Here is some basic information that we give to new members and perhaps this will give you the impetus to get started again on your exercise and diet control. A lot of this information is only relevant to the UK. Ask as many questions as you need to as there is usually someone here who will have an answer for you. And Happy New Year to you too.

Hello daisy,

Thank you very for this guidelines you have sent to me. This is more clearer than all what I had before. My problem right now is how I could have my own glucose meter. It is very expensive here on my country unlike in your country it is provided with your government for free or less price.

Happy New Year
