Hello everyone,

I was diagnosed type 2 about four years ago and take Gliclazide and Asprin as well as watching my diet.
Being good is in my vocabulary but I do like a bit of chocolate but try not to eat a lot.
I have just ordered a new blood testing kit (code free) after being told I don't need to monitor my blood :?: .
Tested it earlier and it was 9.6 which I think is high before breakfast. Because I only eat cereals
for breakfast I tend to take my medication before lunch ! Just wondering if I should take it before
my breakfast ? does anyone agree or should it be before my lunch which could be a sandwich and then several pieces fruit.

bye for now

Hi Oldtimer,

Welcome to the forum.

I take Metformin and we are advised to take it in the morning and again at night, I am sure that someone will be on here shortly with a direct answer for you.

Hi Oldtimer and welcome to the forum To help you to get better control, here is some information written especially for new members and I hope you will find it helpful, along with the replies you have already got to your questions. It is very important to monitor your BGs, before and 2 hours after meals. That way you can see which foods raise your levels and which are OK to eat. You can monitor less after finding this out.

Hi everyone,

Many thanks for your quick replies and to Daisy1 for the BASIC INFORMATION FOR NEW MEMBERS
which I should know but knowing me probably don't so it will make interesting reading.
bye for now
