Im Al, I'm 28 and I've been diagnosed as a type 1 for three months now. Bit of a shock to say the least, went to the docs as was feeling a bit rubbish, a couple of days later and I'm in A and E with a drip and insulin being pumped into me - three days I was in there for :? .
Anyway, they bombarded me with info, put me on a four injections a day regime. I've been lurking here for a while and some of the info posted here has been really helpful. Got my first HbA1c result back the other day which was 10.4 - high but the nurse said its good to bring it down slowly as its better for your eyes that way.
Anyways, just thought I'd say hi to everyone!
