I am a Diabetic Type 1 from Denmark.
I have had a history with a lot of problems (lost sight on one eye and bad kidneys) propaply due to bloddsugar levels going up and down a lot
I have Just published an App int the AppStore called DiabetesDocs
My App supports taking unlimited test and supplies me with a good overview for the latest days of bloodsugar, meals, medicine and motion
and i helps me decide how much insulin i need - depending on current bloodsugar level and carbs in my meal.
My app has had a great effect on myself and my goal is to make it a "cant live without" for diabetics
So I was just wondering - are you english people familiar with the 500 Rule and 100 Rule when calculation your medicine or
do you use something different ???
I think most people that have done DAFNE or similar are aware of the 100 rule, and a quick google reveals what the 500 rule is.
I personally haven't used either in calculating my ratios but seem to have arrived at numbers that work via trial and error, based on a lot of evolution. Interestingly, the 500 rule comes pretty close to my actual I;C ratio!
Ok thanks !! I Actually do the same in my app I just specify the Ratio
which shoul be calculated like this (all insulin per day/500)
because when i calc it with the 500 Rule i dont exactly hit the Ratio I currently use
