I have been reading here about a year and finally have stepped up to introduce myself properly.
I've been diagnosed T2 about a year and have been following the LCHF diet for about that time. I've brought down my A1c from 8.6% to 6.0% (11.1 mmol/L to 4.0 mmol/L) in about 6 months, getting another value soon.
The differences in treatment followed in different countries is very interesting, and I have always sought out a UK perspective on care and healing- much less likely to head for a pill or surgery than here in the US. So that's how found you all. I've lost over 75 pounds (34 kg) in the past year and have greatly improved my health with what I have learned here and through other sites recommended by forum participants.
I am so grateful for the knowledge and kindness willingly shared here.
Thank you for the welcome! I point lasers at thing to study them, thus the username. So, HbA1C down from 70.5 mmol/mol to 42.1 mmol/mol, in your money - I'll take that for a year's work, and on to the next year. I have a chart for converting the finger test readings while I'm reading here, but I am still getting used to what the numbers actually mean in different units. We still do pounds, miles, and Fahrenheit over here.

Honestly I wouldn’t worry about it. You can comfortably use US units here if you prefer. Pretty sure there’s a converter available on the home page somewhere though.
By the way we still use miles here too. Not sure why but there you have it.
@Laserqueen Going to echo the sentiment that is an amazing name and quite a change around for you too in terms of your levels! I am impressed and welcome to the community, glad that we could help you! Fingers crossed it keeps on getting better for you.

Nowt wrong with pounds, miles and Fahrenheit. Some of us still use them here! Though we do tend to use stones and pounds rather than pounds alone. My calculator gets a lot of use!
Welcome , as already pointed out a very cool user name . I will take it to mean very focused but not monochromatic I wish you smooth sailing on this forum, it sure has lots to offer
