Hello, My name is Suzanne, I was diagnosed with Diabetes LADA last year. But I'm currently still on oral medication. But was warned it would be a matter of time before I will have to take insulin. For awhile my oral were working, but recently my blood sugars have been creeping back up. I have any carbs at all and it send it up. At the moment my fasting sugars are between 9.5 and 10. I am waiting for what my doctor is going to do as I had a diabetic review yesterday.

Hi Suzanne and welcome to the forum Here is some information which we give to new members which might help you. You are right to cut the carbs. Ask as many questions as you like as there is usually someone here to help. I am sure you will get some helpful replies to your post.

Hello all out there I am also new but researching on my daughters behalf. She lives in Australia and has just been diagnosed with what used to be called syndrome x or now known as insulin resistant. Knowing that this can lead to type 2 diabetes among other things and that it usually has a family history can anyone enlighten me as to what diet she should be following and should the rest of the family, namely myself at 71 and my son at 48 be tested.

Hi sysyq and welcome to the forum Have a look at the info I posted above as it should be useful to you.
