Hi everyone
I'm type 2 had for 4 years managed to keep glucose levels fine. Along came prostrate cancer
Succsesful radical prosectomy thank god after 2 months the oncologist put me on to
Zoladex which is a androgen and helps to Hoover any little traces of the dreaded that left this
Keeps your psa level down mine at the moment is 1.7 that's great. But this drug is dreadful to
Diabetics as it forces up glucose levels no matter how careful you are with diet.my wake up reading
Is about 12.8 after dinner 16.5. At the moment I take 3 500 mets aday have only been on them
3 weeks doc says they should make difference. Any other souls out here like me that would like to natter.

Cheers David d

Hi David - I'm glad you found where I put your post. Welcome to the forum Plenty of people here to talk to and if you ask questions there will always be someone to help you. I know you are not newly diagnosed but you might be interested to see the information we give out to new members as I am sure you will find something helpful in here.

Hi David

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear of your post-prostate cancer problem. High blood sugars is one of the noted side-effects of zoladex. Hopefully the metformin will work but, if not, there are an arsenal of drugs that may help. Exercise and diet are also good tools in our tool chest.

Let us know how you get on.

Regards

Doug
