Hi i was diagnosed with type 2 almost a year ago and find i constantly have new things to learn about how diabetes is affecting my daily life. Am seeing doc today as blood results came back really high after medication dose halved because i was doing so well! I find this alarming and am glad to have found diabetes uk where there is information and help on offer all the time. When i tested this morning i was 21.9 eek, so went for a walk and when i retested was over 25 so am feeling scared about what is happening to me. hope i can get things back under control.

Hi Nonibette,

What sort of diet do you have ? Reducing your carb intake will probably help get those levels down

Hi aaragon, just read the posts on hello all by shortbread, and learned that following the dieticians advice was not the best move. I'd been doin well on level of meds and low carb diet, doc halved meds and dietician advised me the best way to control peaks in bs was to have carbs with each meal! I have suffered the consequences and from now on will stick to low carb and will educate the doc when i see him today. Really glad i found this site.

Hi there *waves*

Don't be scared, you'll get it under control. If your levels are high before exercising , the adrenalin etc can raise them even further, so thats probably why you got a higher reading, so don't worry about that.

You've come to the right place and hopefuly your levels will be back to normal soon

Hi again nonibette

I'm crushed that you got my name wrong

As for educating Doctors  I wish you luck.
Stick with this Forum and you won't go wrong

Ask the doctor this:-

if you haven't had a speeding ticket for six months they take away your speedo and don't give it back until you have three, Is this fair?

When he says no, ask him why he is doing the same to diabetics?
