I am new to this forum, I was looking for resouce information regarding ideal diet for Type 1 and found this site

I was diagnosed with Type 2 about 5 years ago, but within 3 weeks they changed the diagnosis to Type1, however like others on here there is some confusion on what is type 1 and type 2 insulin dependant, I have been told that the difference is the age that you are diagnosed at, if diagnosed at an early age your are type1, if at an older age (like me) you are type 2 insulin dependant... is this correct...

I have never been good at controlling my blood sugar levels but now my health is not that brilliant at the moment (having hypo's daily) I have decided its time to take diet and levels more seriously, hence looking for dietry advice and guidance, the local doctors are not that good at handing out this sort of advice that I am looking for to help with controls..all they do is criticise my 3 months level count and make me feel very bad for poor control, but i have never been taught the best ways to control....

so if its possible I am looking for a diet guidance list, I try to be good but I am getting stuck with the foods and drinks I have enjoyed in the last 40 years,,,,

Thanks for your help...
