In my haste to find out more about my diagnosis in the newly diag'd section, I completely forgot my manners and didn't introduce myself here!
I'm Steve from Manchester and I've just been diagnosed type 2.
I'm 43, have always been active but also fat for the last 20 years.
Just embarking on low carb/Paleo again and about to restart Crossfit tomorrow.
Hopefully this and the meds will help me shift the belly flab and get my levels down quite soon.
So glad you're all here (well you know what I mean). It looks really supportive and well-informed.
Hello Steve, I have seen you on another thread. Welcome to the forum. Like I said to you on another thread as you get into low carbing, your BG's will get lower. It's tough being told you have this horrid condition, but with a lifestyle change, you can keep it really well controlled. Low carbing also helps you loose weight. I am testament to that, I lost 28 pounds in seven weeks, then the following week lost 5.8 pounds, so it can be done. Good luck.
