Hi Contralto, when I had my bacterial kidney infection I just had the odd nagging pain, nothing suggesting anything serious, then I stood up from the sofa and the pain was immense, I collapsed and woke up in hospital with a consultant and a doctor around my bed, my kidney levels were dropping dramatically and they told me they were looking for the most powerful antibiotic they could find, it went down to 0.3 0 being packed in, no chance of dialysis, I was knocked out by the ab's for 2 weeks, spent 6 weeks in bed lost 5 stone in weight in that time and was seriously ill, this was in April of last year and I still struggle walking, and get tired very quickly, it scarred my liver as well, and also having diabetes that wasn't being treated it's very hard to understand how I pulled through, but I did and have built up strength, but do have difficulty in concentration and also lethargy is a big part of my life, I don't like the way I live now, I used to work 16 hour days 7 days a week, I believe where you live is your destiny to the best treatment you get for diabetes, I don't think I have had the support I need, so joining fellow people and reading their stories has given me a boost, and I don't feel alone with this illness anymore, good luck to you hope you are well.
