Hi all my name is juliet I have been type 1 diabetic for 5 years now and I still feel alone is there anyone that knows of any help groups I could go to and meet other people I'm in lancing

Hi @Juliet boxall ,

There are few forum members in your area (I'm in Worthing). There used to be a group in Steyning but their web page is not currently working so I don't know if they are still operating. As far as I know, the nearest local group is either Brighton or Chichester.

You could try the Brighton or Chichester groups, you might meet some people who are more local. I think it must be difficult to keep these groups going unless you have a large base to draw from. (Or try starting one!)

You could look into starting a group yourself, sure if you contact DUK they would offer you some support and advice.

It's probably a bit far for you but I know a couple of people have come up from Brighton so I thought I'd mention it. It's a very informal meet...usually in a pub but this time it's a BBQ in Regent's park. It's usually a good day and a good opportunity to meet other Type 1's and compare notes/stories etc
