Help! I have so much weight to lose

I'm going to put my stretch marks to the test. I'll change my name to Shirley and take myself to Greece ... ;-)

glad you are positive about motherhood and how you have got through all the different experiences in your life, my stretch marks are more on top of legs like tread ,marks, yet like you it reminds me of all the pregnancies and got through them, and i can relate to what you say to we do not relaize how strong we are as women what we do go through till we think about it, hugs x
 
I look beyond physical appearance. It is the spirit that matters most.
 
I'm pretty sure I'll need a tummy tuck when the weight goes, though somewhere Mr E still has his kit for sewing up prolapsed sheep so it might get done on the cheap. I'm trying to incorporate some regular toning and stretching stuff just so it has chance to work. It does worry me if I'm honest but not as much as diabetic complications so it's onwards and hopefully downwards.
I agree with @peacetrain about carbs and addiction. I did at times feel like I was out of control stuffing bread down after a full meal. I've never been a massive sweet fan, but give me a French stick or a bag of chips and I could eat them on top of my meals, and it now shows in my waistline and diabetes. I think a lot of us have a very complicated relationship with food and carbs in particular and it isn't always as simple as greed or lack of willpower.
I've found this forum a big help as you realise that you aren't alone and that no one deserves this illness.
 
Having lost around a third of my body weight, but still a long way to go before I am at a weight that is healthy, I already have a lot of excess skin, mainly around my middle. It is a nuisance at times, but give me good lingerie, over surgery any day. I am more into functionality than aesthetic appearance, but that could change if the excess skin becomes uncomfortable.

As for the food addictions, I can relate to that. That is in the past, but like my ' reversed' diabetes I am constantly watchful in case it returns when I least expect it.
 
Well done everyone on this great weight loss! I can't decide if the flabby fat round my middle is the weight I still have to shift, or loose skin from losing nearly 5 stones! But I don't think I care! Bought some very nice lingerie on Saturday and for the first time in YEARS did not mind being measured in the changing room. Though they were little single cubicles, not communal ones - a couple of stones to go before I'll do that again!

I'm in a giddy mood. I get like this sometimes. My bg is 4.7. Can it affect moods?

Mine was just 4.7 too - after 45 minutes on the treadmill and a nice stir fry this evening for dinner. And yes, BGs can affect moods - this made me .. HAPPY!
 
Not so fast with the congrats To everyone on weight loss. I am saying nowt about mine this week, but in the grand scheme of things this is not bad, so I won't be disheartened.
Just made a decision to weigh myself monthly rather than weekly.

It does feel good to be able to shop for clothes and nice undies in ordinary shops though instead of having to find specialist online suppliers of reinforced utility garments.

I see some 4.7s and 4.8s during the week. Usually when I'm ready for my evening meal. My personal experience is that around 5 or below I feel a bit woozy. I know others cope fine at that level but I don't seem to. I had it a lot when I was taking metformin but now I feel better. I've just had a Zand snack and also just under 2g carbsworth of 85% chocolate. It will be interesting to see what my reading is in the morning. Not ready for bed yet.
