Help Metformin making me sick

I get a bad headache about 2 hours after I take it followed by a few bouts diarrhea. The last few nights I've also become very nauseous and break into a cold sweat. The Dr lessened it to 250 MG twice a day instead d 500 and it isn't helping. I've tried only eating a little with it and also a larger meal (no carbs) but it doesn't help.
 
Hi joeyK, go back to your doc and ask for metformin sr ( slow release these are more expensive which is why they do not issue them 1 st) hope you get well soon .clive
 
Thanks....I wonder if I even need meds? My fasting blood sugar was 244 (after a year long sugar and carb bing) and A1C was 11.7....4 days of low carb and my #'s are already in the 120's and all symptoms gone.

Yes i would be inclined to give yourself a bit of support from the met' sr and get into a nice steady routine ...before chucking your meds,clive
 
I also have to start statins....is that going to make things more miserable?
