Hi there,

My Grampa is 79 and has type 2 diabetes and is currently on:

Gliclazide 80mg (160mg daily)
Ramipril 2.5mg
simvastatin 20mg
furosemide 40mg (80mg daily)
atenolol 50mg
metformin 500mg (2000mg daily)
doxazosin 4mg

He hasn't been feeling well lately... Very dizzy, quite depressed.

My concern is should he be taking all these tablets a day?

Could it be the combination of the above drugs be having adverse effects?

Really appreciate if you could help him out or provide any advice, thank you

Some of those drugs are for blood sugar control Gliclazide and Metformin.
the rest are for high blood pressure and cholesterol. I can't see any obvious incompatibilities,[ they are all common medicines] but if you are concerned, ask your pharmacist. and if Grampa isn't well, get him to see the doctor.
