Help please !

Hi all , just wanted some help really ! I got to work at 8 this morning tested sugars was 8.9 (which I know isn't to good) took my background insulin of 10 units , then just come on break now haven't had anything to eat and now it is 17.1 , I have got a cold , but could it really affect it this much , iv had a couple of readings like this over the last week starting to get worried . Thankyou for reading .

Your best bet is to phone whoever looks after your diabetes and give them full info on what you've eaten, insulin taken etc and ask them for advice. Colds can impact your levels but they can also just shift sometimes and you may need to make changes to the amount of insulin you take.

However, phone your diabetic team and give them all the info you can.

Thank you for your advice , iv rang them up just waiting on a phone call back . Another 8 hours at work feeling tried now , stupid body !
