Yeah, it can be very confusing when you have been recently diagnosed. Most of the contributors on the forum have been through it too, and most have emerged fitter, healthier and happier than before. I'm sure you can do it too.
Priority number 1 - get those blood sugar levels down as soon as you can. I know you realise they are very high but it really is the single most important thing to focus on at this stage. If you can get better control, many other aspects of your health will improve immediately.
As a matter of interest, what has your dietician told you, and what are you eating ?
