I never had diabetes and fasting blood results always stayed under 5 but unfortunately this time fasting blood result was 14 and my GP recommended for GTT for which I am going tomorrow.

This morning I checked with own glucose monitor and result was 13.4 (fasting)

I am pretty depressed. My GP will start medication only after GTT

What should I do? I have sedentary life style but from today going to start long walk.

Your help will be much appreciated.

Re: help required to control tyoe 2 diabetes

Hi goodguy and welcome to the forum In case you are diagnosed diabetic as a result of your GTT test, here is some basic information written by the former monitors for new members which you should find helpful. Ask as many questions as you need to as there is always someone to help. Well done on getting yourself testing equipment already - this is so important to control properly. You will see in this information what the recommended fasting levels are so you can see that yours are too high.
