A few years back we visited Spain and the carbs/serving size labels on the packages were different then what we have here in the US. I was hoping that someone can give some insight that might make it a bit easier this time around. If I remember correctly something like the bread did not have serving size but rather a set grams (something like 100g). Is there a simple way to figure out the european why of counting them vs the US way. (pleasse no jokes )
Hmmm, this is a bugbear of mine - weight in grams is an absolute and can be measured, serving size however? Depends on how big your serving is - means nothing, same as portion - useless. But I just found out some very useful info today on another difference between US and European labelling (thanks hanadr!), specifically relating to carbs: http://www.diabetes.co.uk/diabetes-forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=9730
