Hii,
I have been sick most of yesterday night and all during the night I need to take X2 metformin after food, my issue is that o physically can't stomach it right now, I haven't even had a drink I'm to scared incase I can't hold it down. So I don't know what to do I have never been in this situation before.
Can someone please help

try and not panic xxx

i don't know much about the metformin but i would leave it for today if you're being sick
your blood sugar being high for a day is not critical.

hopefully some of the cool type 2's will be along to the rescue quickly

but do try not to panic !!

are you testing your blood sugar at all ??
if so what readings are you getting ?
 
Hi there once when I was still taking metformin, I had a post operation infection and for three weeks I couldn't keep anything down. At the end of the three weeks I had lost a stone in weight and my bloods were in the non-diabetic range low fives to low sixes! Obviously my enforced fast didn't harm my diabetes in the least so I would say - don't worry about not being able to take your metformin. Hope you feel better soon x
