being a diabetic and finding restrictions.to life style. people who do not understand the problems one has. not being able to afford to come back to uk for holidays as often, quite expensive. miss some foods that the French do not do. but can live with that French drivers. who love to tail gate. and they love to drive over the white line. in rural areas they are a pain. but get use to it. does put the wind up you. But driving in the UK found that drivers want to get as close as they can. and the traffic. it took me 25 minutes to get to friends house which was less then a mile away. due to traffic.
What a wonderful day it is. I might sound a bit cranky, but I have just got my result from the lab stating that my hemoglobine glyquee is down . so surprised

Little info:

I had the 3monthly tests and for a period of time 3 tests still stayed the same 9.40 9.39 was 9.40 16.11.13 not good

The doctor said if I did not get this down by the next time of tests then I would have to go on insulin to control it.

Not an option for me. as hate injecting myself even with the bg, makes me cringe. So put off going for test. the next test was 8.10.. 21. 1. 14 Better but still causing a problem. on the 17th June went for the test could not put if off any longer so it was do or die !!!!
Got the results back today I am so overjoyed. 6.80 ...............ok bit higher then it should be but you will never know how it made me feel. That at last have reduced

I have another test on the 23rd July. but if I can keep this then insulin will not be an issue with my Doctor.

Has anyone else had this sort of response,

Wonderful, so chuffed. CANNOT STOP SMILING !!!

I have to thank you guys for all the information that you have passed along. since joining this Forum, I have learnt a lot. even sometimes when I have not taken it all in. I have tried to keep low carb etc etc. This works for . OK.... have times when I go over the top. But revert back to my diet.

Thanks so much, I look at the site most day. and I cannot thank you enough Keep up the good work Great Forum.

Brilliant, well done Anne!

Thank you. You know it is hard for me to express my feelings and this forum makes you aware that there other people are the same.

Silly really, but I live in France, and have found the information is good, but my French is not good, so this Forum helps me a lot.

The French are very much into being a diabetic. and the problems it causes. They seem to want you to be on insulin straight away when diagnosed. I refused, knowing that the people I know who are T2 have no tablets etc. One person I know is in his late 60s. does it only by diet, eats a lot of fish. and says that it works. others, just go along day by day.

But I find that all your help has made me come to terms that I have a problem, I do try not worry about it, but that does not always work.

When I go for a tests then I get anxious and I am puffing etc etc. nerves I expect and looking for the worse result, which has happened.

Now I must keep trying.

Today I thought I would try something different to eat.
scrambled eggs 2 on toasted pancakes, with cheese and garlic.

Nice and different, tonight I will have escallopes and green veg. maybe an ice cream.

Thanks Sanguine, have read several of your blogs.
