Hey everyone!

I used to be on this board a while ago, but I totally forgot all my log in details and even which email account I'd used ha! Anyway, been type 1 for 16 years, not under great control, and have really lost motivation with it all recently, for numerous reasons. I'm trying to get myself back in to gear, and thought joining the forum again might help as I found it really useful before

Hi Lucy and welcome back
I hope this will help you to get back on track. This is information that probably hadn't yet been written when you were a member before and we give it to new members now. It has been updated recently. Ask all the questions you like as someone will help you.

Hi Sugarfree

Metformin is well known for causing tummy upsets. You can ask your GP for the slow release version - people who suffer with the orig type seem to get on better with these.

Re the weight loss - a stone in 2 weeks seems a lot ( unless you have a lot to lose) , it could be down to the not eating or keeping it in. Or it could be something else - what springs to mind is mis-diagnosis as type 2.

Have you changed your diet / are your readings been coming down?
