Hi, my names LiL and I live in Yeovil.

I'm looking for others who live in this area, with Type 1 diabetes to meet up for cups of tea and chat! Is there anyone out there?

I'm 30 years old, married with two lovely children and am a student nurse!

Please reply, we already have something in common!

Hi Becca,
Thanks for replying, I was starting to think there was no-one else around!

Newly diagnosed! Scary eh! What a horrid feeling.

I love this site, i've only just registered but have been checking it out for the past year or so. It's so useful!

Thanks Graham,

I've had a good old nose and still no-one from anywhere remotely near me! I'm sure they are out there somewhere.

Yes I do! I might know you, I am 32 and have two kids! I am Type 1 (but slow onset!) and not very good at keeping control!

I would love to meet, I went to the help group meeting that DiabetesUK were going to set up but I was by far the youngest! I know that older people have a lot of good adivice to offer but it would be great to talk to someone with a similar lifestyle to my own. Do you work as well?

Blooming cheek, I'm not that much older than 32!!

Hiya Lil, found it funny finding your post here now, LOL!

Oh yeah, just in case you're wondering, tis Anne, treasurer for Yeovil and district voluntary group here

Hi there
I live in Taunton and was diagnosed with type 2 two days ago so I'm still in the land of the confused and ill-informed. :?
I don't quite fit your demographics - I am mid 40's, two children, moved from South Africa 18 months ago, but would love to have a cup of tea with someone who understands that a cup of tea is now fraught with complications and consequences...things were so much simpler last week!

Hi there,
Also live in Taunton, was diagnosed type 2 just over a year ago, have managed to lose 3 stone and get it under control but now winter is setting in looking for other sufferers maybe to keep fit with etc. etc, or maybe just have a chat. I saw the local diabetes group but they were advertising flower arranging and that wasnt really up my street. BTW just turned 40, married, dad of one little boy.
