Hi and welcome. Suggest you read around the forum as much as possible and ask any questions you like. A lot of us manage our condition by eating low carb so excluding sugary things, grain based and starches (potatoes, rice, pasta, bread) and look out for the hidden sugars in below ground veg and most fruit. Whether natural sugar or added sugar it all has the same effect on BG. But eat protein of your choice, above ground veg and berries in a limited way are the best fruit. Get yourself a meter (even if your GP says not) so you can test i mediately before eating and two hours later aiming for a rise of +2. In the start I found it useful to tweak meals and keep a record of how my meter liked it. (Eg Cottage Pie with celeriac mash or cauli mash, Bol with tenderstem broccoli or green beans, curry with cauli rice). Take a look at DietDoctor for ideas and infographics about fruit & veg. Also What have you eaten threads on the forum.
Good luck I think you will be fine when you get going.

Hi, I like you are new to this as other person said already

Hi, I like you still finding my way but finding this site when first diagnosed was a god send. As other person has said search this forum for as much info as possible. I did and have already seen improvements in my counts.

Hi and welcome. Good to have you on board. You will find lots of useful information and support here - I am so appreciative of the people here who have made my management of T2 so easy. That'll happen for you as well.
