Hi,my names Dave and i live in Worksop notts.I have been a class 1 diabetic all my life.I was diagnosed in 1961 due to the fact that i was always asleep as a baby.In 1966 i went to st monicas diabetic home in kingsdown till 1969.I fell across this site by accident while trying to find out more about what happened to st monicas and the kids i was there with but .Alas it closed in 1971.Children after that date were shown the dos and donts in the home instead of being sent away from there families.The home was run at the time by a Joan Deihl, we all had to call the staff either aunty or uncle If anyone is interested there is some history of these homes on a site called Hidden lives revealed, because apparently there were several in the u.k..So if Terry Reid from Beeston notts or Tracey Stafford from Manchester are out there i am looking to find you and catch up with what we did
