Hi I’m julieclarke I’ve joined to find out more about T2 diabetes

Can I have sugar free biscuits
check the carbs for the biscuits and see if that amount is something your happy with. In some cases "sugar free" actually contains more carbs which then will convert to sugars.

theres nothing wrong with having snacks in general. The only way to know if your body copes well with what you eat is to test via fingerprick blood glucose level prior to eating something then again around 2 hours later you would want the difference to be around 2mmol of a difference after that amount of time has passed. eg prior 7 couple hours later 9. some results may surprise you in unexpected ways. i would spike less high (but for longer) if i had for example digestive biscuit with a little cheese compared to a digestive biscuit by itself.

could speak to your dsn to get a target range then depending on your current BG you'd have an idea if it would be suitable for you. personally i've chosen to eat a couple of digestive biscuits (or crackers) with cheese for lunch on the odd occassion.

if my glucose levels were in teens, i would then normally choose to avoid certain foods. If on the other hand my suger levels were lower than i'd like i would then sometimes eat something i would not otherwise.

a lower carb type of snack are nuts some keto styled biscuits will usually contain less check out likes of holland and barrets (much cheaper if make them yourself). subing flour for almold flour etc.

edit: swapped 2 to couple for easier reading rather than 3 numbers listed.

When I was first diagnosed T2 I cut out bread, pasta, flour products, rice and potatoes. I had cut out sugar years before. I found this much easier than stressing over what I could or couldn't have. When I was used to that regime I tested before and 2 hours after meals to check how different foods were affecting me. When my blood glucose levels were OK I then let up a bit and had the occasional potato if my meter said Yes.
I don't think your high carb meals are doing you any good, if you are in fact T2. I don't think you have provided an HbA1c yet?
