Been diabetic for nearly 10 years now. Started off diet controlled, then 18 months later put on insulin and am now on insulin and tablets. (novorapid, lantus and metformin).
Im not good at being diabetic... infact im really bad. I really really resent it and hate having to have injections. And i know all the damage that can happen if im not good etc etc yet it hasnt yet scared me. I know, thats bad.
Anyway, im fed up of feeling ill all the time cos my blood sugar is too high and i want to do something about it... thought joining somewhere like this might help motivate me (used to belong to some forums about 3 or 4 years ago).
Hi TeresaM,
I too am new (in the diabetic sense-not age-wise!).
You have far more experience than I do living with diabetes, but we share a difficulty in being diabetic.
I hope you find assistance on this website, even if only realising that there are lots of us who find things hard. There are some good people who can offer support and empathy. Good luck.

I guess being here will help the "im all on my own with this" feeling i often get... the "noone understands what its like" etc... Im hoping it will help with the motivation!
I hope you get lots of useful things from the forum - support, motivation, understanding, friendship and a right good laugh if you're lucky!
I'm really passionate about the positive effect of groups of diabetics simply talking to one another. I doubt there's a single member on here who hasn't learned more from this sort of outlet than any other, so stick around and see for yourself.
