Hi,

Not really sure where to start, I have made an appointment to see my doctor next Wednesday as I think I may have diabetes. Both of my pregnancies I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes but with my last pregnancy I was asked to monitor my glucose by pricking my finger after each meal recording the reading and then speaking with my midwife. I had the follow up appointment after my daughters birth which showed everything was normal, that's now 2 & a half years ago and recently I have been feeling tired all the time though I'm getting enough sleep etc I just feel I have no & little energy, I always seem to be looking for something to eat aswell plus my thirst seems to be all over the place. I had a diabetes test a year ago as I had the same kind of symptoms but it came back normal but if it was normal surely I should be feeling myself. I don't know whether I'm reading too much into this, my uncle has diabetes and has to inject and my 92 year old nan has to take tablets for diabetes aswell as monitoring her sugars.

Any advice would be great - thanks Lisa x

Hi Lisa, we cannot really give you any advice until you have seen your doctor next week and are diagnosed, or not, with diabetes. Your symptoms could well be something else. However, we do give out basic information to new members and this could be useful to you in case you are diagnosed pre-diabetic when it could help you stop progression to full diabetes. If you are diagnosed diabetic then it will be helpful to you to follow the advice in here to gain control of your levels. Please come back here and tell us what the doctor says and then ask any questions you may have.
