hi everyone,
I have been a diabetic for about 22 years and have had all the complications under the sun. Problems with my eyes, gastro paresis and kidney problems. I have had kidney failure for about 18 months now and am currently on the "work up" for a kidney and pancreas transplant. the problem is i can't get my head round it all. I am having terrible problems at work with the time i have had off with gastro paresis, my boss has put me on an absence target, I can't eat or sleep properly because everything keeps going round in my head and I think I am going crazy. Am I having a nervous breakdown??? Am I loosing the plot???? can anyone give me any advice?
thanks for listening.

Hi

Hi there I want to start by saying how sorry I am to here of your struggles. Your not losing it and your not crazy, your going through an incredible amount of stress and worry. It's understandable for you not to get your head round everything and not be sleeping or eating. There gastric problems symptoms anyway.
I have also had all the same problems as you apart from organ failure. I have had diabetes for 20 years and have had laser surgery on my eyes and an enterra gastric pacer fitted for my gastroporasis. Is this something you could ask your doctor about at all.

Keep your chin up and keep checking your bloods and drink plenty all the best .

Yes I understand all the things that you are expericencing - Ive been there and had a pancreas/kidney transplant 8 years ago so I am happy to discuss or explain any aspect of the operation/experience etc to any type one diabetics who might be concerned.

I was a type one diabetic for 36 years ands my sister has been one for 20 years and is now just starting to go down the same road as I did 8 years ago ......

I'm happy and free from injections, diet and all the restrictions of diabetes and I can assure people that it is like a miracle!!!
Very pleased that I had it done!
