Hi yet another newbie

Hi all

Recently diagnosed (last week) so recently in fact they have yet to decide if it's Type 1 or 2. Had my suspicions for a few months and after doing many bs tests at home lowest 13 highest 24 i decided to make it official . It is a bit daunting looking ahead and was a shock being put straight on insulin (both slow release and fast acting shot b4 every meal) and being told it was probably going to remain like that for ever, still must be positive and thankful as there are many worse off out there.

From what i have seen this is a fantastic looking forum and found lots of useful things already. Now to search the food advice, hopefully find something for ppl who do not eat veggies or fruit haha

Hi Sheep and welcome to the forum You have really come to the right place to learn how to manage your diabetes as well as possible whichever type you turn out to be. We eat a lot more than just veggies and fruit... Have a look at the Diabetes Food Forum for ideas:
