Hi all,

I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes in 2016 after having gestational diabetes with both of my pregnancies in 2010 and 2013.

After a recent surprise pregnancy (little girl born in January) where my blood sugars were tightly controlled with insulin, I have had two Hba1cs come back in the normal range (not sure of exact no) and one last week at 43 which puts me in the pre diabetic range.

I am on 2xmetformin a day, my weight has always been good (8stone 4 and 5 foot 3), but my diet has sometimes not been the best. I have joined this forum to hopefully spur me on to stay in the non diabetic range and make healthier life choices. I know it will be difficult, especially as I think I am pre disposed to diabetes as my mum and grandmother were both type 2.

Anyway, sorry for the essay and look forward to 'meeting' you!

Hello and welcome @Emma_w9 .
Congratulations on your little surprise daughter. Also well done on your recent HbA1c tests. Not easy to gain tight control of blood glucose in early days after baby, particularly with current pandemic, but good motivation to improve diet.
