I joined this forum back in 2010 when my late mum was ill and wanted some advice about diabetes as I was diagnosed with glucose intolerance.

I am now, as I feared I would become, diabetic. I was diagnosed on 6 December and immediately put on 1 metaformin and 1 simsvastatin a day. My 1st appointment with the diabetic nurse is on 17 January and in the meantime, I'm trying to be good.

My mum sadly passed away at the end of 2010 and so I've got her glucose meter and have been testing myself every so often and found my levels have varied a lot but I've not over eaten over Christmas and my new year celebrations should be fairly controlled too.

Although I've got a family history of diabetes and my best friend is insulin dependant, the knowledge that I have is only what I've learned by osmosis! Looking forward to learning more about how to control my levels.

Hi ceejayblue and welcome back I expect you already know a considerable amount about diabetes by now but here is some information that we give to new members which should help you to gain good control of your BGs. Ask as many questions as you like as there is usually someone who will be able to help.
