Hi .......I am recently been told I now have full blown Type 2 after being insulin resistant/ pre diabetic for a few years.I am on metformin 2x5oo which doesn't seem to cause any problems.I have a high reading first thing in the morning but this goes down after breakfast when I would have thought it would go up !!!
Can Dawn phenomina affect a type 2 ?
 
Hi and welcome. Yes, DP can affect T2s. Usual advice is to have a snack before bed, to fool the liver into thinking it's not starving overnight.
 
Its also a good idea to make sure your FBG is done as soon as you wake up as even getting up and fluffing about for 5-10 minutes before testing can affect BS.
