Hi and welcome to the forum, you are definately in the right place. I find the forum a great place to get help and support and I find coming on here everyday helps to keep me on track. If you have any questions just ask. I will tag
@daisy1 to post some great information to read.[/QUOTEi
I am so impressed with your carb control and the obvious success you have had BungleO1. I am all over the place with calculating carbs that are attached to my preferred food. I was ok all the time it seemed simply avoid bread potatoes cereals and rice. But it's not just as straightforward as that it seems. . First I was borderline - then free - then after gaining approx 1stone in weight I was classed as type 2. This being a result from a blood test. no suggestion of medication etc - not that I want to go down that road - so whilst nothing specifically said I have presumed the answer is to lose weight !! So my new year resolution - a bit early - is to try and get this sorted once and for all by myself. I do have a monitor and testing strips etc.. Which I bought myself as nothing was ever offered from my surgery. I seem to be in the 5 mmols to 7.5 range depending when I'm testing. I do know that my doc once said that 4 mmols is what she prefers.??? But so many variants and I don't understand any readings other than in m mols. I've never had any diabetic symptoms.
I have read on here that 40 grms carb is not OTT.???
So can I have the secret of your success?? Are your energy levels good. Are you on a LCHF diet. How did you arrive so clearly at the carb level you mention - is it all about weighing or being a very dedicated reader of labels etc. Is your diet pretty straightforward with veg and lean meat etc etc Can you vary your meals quite well still staying Inside your carb level.
Sorry for the barrage of questions but I find it much easier to take on board other people's experiences to learn from rather than text books and your advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Well done
