@Gardevoir as you are finding out, timings and ratios for insulin vary throughout the day. Over time I discovered if I ate after 5pm and my sugars were in range or slightly below, insulin worked very quickly and I went low before the food hit. Consequently I now take the insulin after I’ve eaten and I wait to see a trend upwards. Another ruse can be splitting. Taking a starter amount and then the rest after eating. I certainly wouldn’t do that in the morning when I whack the whole lot in a good 30 minutes before.
Don’t lose heart, keep experimenting.
