Hi all. Haven' posted in a while but having a difficult few days which I think is linked to a mistaken double dose of my thyroid medication...spent 3 days catching up with the massive increase in blood sugar and thought I'd finally caught up with it this morning after increasing my basal dose. Short lived dream, had my dinner carb counted injected...using fiasp and tresiba. Felt sick 2 hours later so checked my blood
19.8! I was mortified guzzled some water and injected 5 units. Checked 30 minutes later it was 20.1. Given another 2 units to see if it would push it along and it's only 19.3. Ive done my basal insulin a little earlier today and added another 4 units to it based on this morning' reading. Is there anything else I can do or just sit and wait? I was kind of hoping that the double mistaken thyroid dose from Monday would have worked it's way out of my system by now. I need a nap

Increasing your basal dose can take a few days to show any impact, especially with Tresiba. Don't increase it every day or you might end up having a ton of hypos.
There's lots of reasons you might be high, have you got a cold or any kind of infection? Are you very stressed? Also it might be worth ditching your current insulin pens and starting new ones, just in case it's been denatured somehow.
Good luck
